5 months old

And he keeps on growing like a weed! We don't have a doctors appointment for 5 months so we weighed and measured Elijah at home. He weighed in at 19 lbs even and 27 3/4 inches long.

Other new developments -
--First tooth came through on March 14th. We're pretty sure the other bottom front one is not far behind.
--He had started stooling unassisted. While it is still only 1-2 times per week he is unbothered by this.
--We started solids (Acorn Squash) on his 5 month "birthday". He was more intrigued with the spoon and mommy's hand then with the food itself but he still ate nearly 3/4 of an ounce.
--Elijah can now touch and even "stand" in the exersaucer. He loves the ability to spin and follow Isaiah's as he runs around the room. The chewable items on there also are a big hit.
--We officially called it quits on the bouncy seat. He was just about making it fold to the point of no longer bouncing because of his weight so it was time to give it up, even if it was a favorite.
--He is now sleeping from 6:30 PM to 8:30AM almost every night without waking for any feedings. I was a little concerned at first, but his weight had still continued to grow so now we're gladly enjoying the undisturbed sleep! He is also still taking two good naps (2-3 hours each).
--He is only awake about 5-6 hours a day. However when he is awake his is very happy and interactive. The main times we see him Burst into Tears is when Isaiah rolls him over (still not a big fan of being on his belly, especially without warning), when Isaiah "pats" him, when no one is paying him attention and he gets bored, or when he is ready to be put back down for more sleep.

We look forward to more exciting new first in the coming months. We love you Elijah!

4 months old (a month late)

So this will be a quick post because I don't have much to record since I'm already in 5 month post mode.

Elijah weighed in at 17 lbs, 10 oz at his 4 month appointment. He was 27 1/4 inches long. He continues to grow on both fronts at a nice steady rate.

We considered staring solids but because he is not "regular" and still requires "help" most weeks to stool, the doctor recommended we just wait another month.

Elijah started sleeping very well on a schedule. He takes two long naps each day, goes down for bed around 6:30PM, and aside from being woken to eat around 10:30 he sleeps until around 8AM.

Elijah's personality continues to become more evident as he grows. He LOVES his big brother and is very social, smiling and cooing at anyone who talks with him. His ability to grab, feel and taste items has become quite refined in just a few weeks. He still has to focus very closely but he will reach out and grasp just about anything within reach. He also very much enjoys sucking on the left thumb of his.

We are so blessed to have another beautiful healthy baby boy. We love you Elijah.
