16 months old

Yesterday I turned 16 months old. I didn't go see Dr. Ware yesterday. I am going to go to the "doctor's office" on Wednesday though to get another flu shot. Daddy gets to go with Momma and me because he will be "off" from work for a couple days after today.  

At 16 months old I'm around 27 lb 14 oz and 33 3/4 inches. I have 13 teeth including 4 molars. I've been using my new molars to chew up more chunky foods like carrots, broccoli, oranges, and peaches. Most of the time I just take one nap now but sometimes after a busy couple days I'll take a short morning nap too. I'm getting more hair every day. Momma even likes to brush my hair after my bath. It feels funny but I like that. I enjoy playing with doors, zippers, cabinet latches, and my high chair seatbelt. I laugh a lot and like to stand on my head. I also really enjoy reading books like The Best Mouse Cookie and Bear Snores On. Momma had to use tape and fix them because they are already starting to come apart or maybe it's because I pick at them when Momma isn't looking.  I also can walk down the stairs just holding on to one of Momma's hands and feed myself with a spoon. 

  

These last few weeks have been very busy. Momma put up the Christmas tree and some lights. And we have been going extra places to get everything ready for Christmas. We even already had one Christmas party for the Moyer Christmas. I got to wear my new Tie T-Shirt. I was working on a new tooth though so I drooled a lot on it. Yesterday I got to have special Christmas cookies in my Sunday School class. What I like most though is that Daddy has been able to stay and play with me more. He is very good at reading The Bear Snores On.

I'm going to go play some more now until Daddy gets home from work. Bye-bye.

15 Months Old

I'm 15 months old today. This picture is from a few weeks ago when I dressed up as an Ohio State football player at the Huffman's Fall party.

This morning my cousins came over and played with me. We read books, watched a movie, played with toys and the cats. It was very fun. Later today I'm going to my very first tailgate with Momma and Daddy.

Momma weighed and measured my height at home today because I'm not going to see Dr. Ware until Monday. I am 32 3/4 inches tall and weigh 27lb 8 oz. Momma said Daddy will get to come to Dr. Ware's with us on Monday and then he will get to stay home all next week to play with me.

This week I had another molar come in. Now I have 10 teeth. This month I also learned how to scream. I love to scream "Da-da-da-da". I also know where my toes and belly are now too. I really enjoy going and seeing people but sometimes it's also nice just to sit at home with Momma and read a book, over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I like to talk a lot about anything with just about anyone.

I sometimes only taking one nap, sometimes I just lay down for my morning nap and rest, and when I'm really tired I take two naps still.  And right now, I'm going to go get some lunch and then go take a nap; I'm tired after playing with my cousins this morning. Bye for now.

Three feet, not out of my reach anymore!

I'm walking now and I really enjoy finding things Momma and Daddy leave lying around when they think they are out of my reach. I would rather walk than crawl, and can even stand up without grabing onto anything.

I also have three new teeth. Two in the front on the bottom and one that Momma says is a molar. So total now I have 9 teeth.

I don't have to go see Dr. Ware this month. Momma measured me and I'm 32 1/2 inches and I weigh around 24 lbs and 9 oz. 

I really enjoy taking walks with Momma and Daddy and seeing friends at church. I also enjoy all the new foods and textures Momma has been giving me, like cheese and yogurt. I really enjoy watching my videos that my Great Aunt L gave Momma.

Words I can say now are Mama, Dada, Hi, Uh-Oh, Cat, Ball, Hat, and Up. I also will point to my head and my toes if you want to know where they are.  I can sometimes point to my nose. I also will dance to music, like the music on my fridge farm.

I still don't have much hair. Momma said it is extra important I wear my hat when I go outside now that it is getting so cold out.

My cousins are coming over to play later so I better go get my breakfast. Bye for now.

My 1 Year Visit with Dr. Ware

I went to see Dr. Ware the day before yesterday. I'm 32.25 inches long and 23lbs and 4 oz. (Compared to a 12 month old-) I'm 100% in height and 50% in weight. Daddy sure is proud. My head is 75%.

He checked me all out and said I look very healthy. He also said my runny nose is just new teeth trying to come in. Momma thinks there are 3 trying all at the same time which is why I've been upset some lately. Momma has also been feeding me more milk from a sippy cup. I don't mind it so much because we sit downstairs and watch my video during it. Dr. Ware told her to start trying some "cow's milk" so yesterday instead of "soy formula" for my milk after my morning nap, Momma gave me cow's milk. It didn’t taste okay so I only drank a little. Momma kept trying but she told Daddy I only drank about 1 ounce.

Dr. Ware also told Momma to make sure she is writing down the "milestones" we are seeing like walking and the words I've said. On September 1st, Daddy thought he heard me say "ball" when he headed me my red ball and on September 13th, Momma and Daddy thought they heard me say "cat". I try really hard to say it like them so I'm glad they are hearing me now. August 30th was my first sign of walking. I still only will take 5-6 steps before I would rather get down and crawl, it's just so much faster, but Dr. Ware said that counts. Good thing because it is hard work.

I'm going to go play for a little bit and then get some breakfast before my  nap. Have a good day!

I'm 1 Year Old

The weekend before my birthday Momma, Daddy and I went to "Balloonfest" at the park down the road for our house. It was very fun. We even were able to be part of a World Record by standing in a "hot air balloon" filled with cold air. It was still very hot inside of the balloon. A nice man took this picture of us.

Last week was my birthday. I had a special day with Momma on Thursday, my actual birthday. We went to one of her favorite places, Dietsch's to pick up ice cream for my party and so I could meet the President of The Ohio State University. I also met Brutus and had my picture taken with both of them. It was during when I normally would be going down for a nap and there were a lot of people there, so I wasn't in any mood to smile for either of them. That afternoon, Daddy came home early from work so we could all have supper together and I could have some "cake". It was very sweet and messy. Momma took a video of me eating cake for the first time and these pictures. After the cake, Daddy gave me a bath before going to bed.

 Saturday, my grandparents, great grandparents, cousins, and some of my aunts and uncles came over to "celebrate" my birthday. I opened gifts, played with my cousins, and even got to eat more cake. Everyone watched me eat my cake and this time I really ate quite a bit of it. I also threw some of it on the floor and stuff some of it into my diaper. I had another bath this night too. Momma and Daddy let me stay up a little late Saturday night so I could spend time with my cousins more. It was fun to have everyone come and play.

I didn't go see the doctor for my birthday. Momma said that he is very busy so I will go see him when I'm almost "13 months" old. Momma measured me at home and I weighed 22 lbs, 15 oz. I am 31.25 inches long. I had mashed blueberries for the first time yesterday. On Sunday Daddy turned my carseat around so I can see out the front and watch where we are going. It is fun to see Momma and Daddy when we drive.

I'm really good a crawling now and can "cruise" around the room holding onto things. I'll even stand by myself for a while if no one bumps me. I enjoy playing outside in the grass and I still really enjoy bathtime with Daddy. I don't have to use the baby tub anymore so I can crawl around in the water and play with the "faucet", even though Daddy always says no.

Sometimes when Daddy asks me to, I'll say "dada" for him. I also say "mama", "baba", "oooo", and "mmm". I'll scream as loud as I can if you stop feeding me. Even when I'm full, because I know you are going to wash my face and I really don't like that. I started drinking out of a sippy cup sometimes. I don't like it much but it is getting easier every day.

I'm going to take a nap so Momma and I can go to the store later.

11 Months (Plus a Week)

I've been very busy over this last month. Momma, Daddy, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Aaron, and my cousins went on "vacation" in "South Carolina". On my birthday I hung out with Momma, Aunt Shannon and my cousins at the pool, in my new swimsuit. Then later in the day, Momma, Daddy an I went out to eat for supper. It was a very nice birthday.

Vacation was very fun. I met lots of new people and did lots of new things. I swam in a big pool in my swim ring, I played in the sand at the beach and went to a "show" with horses. I played with my cousins and went to see lots of "fish". I even touched a "crab". Momma said I even got a little "tan" from all the sun. I also rode and slept in my car seat a lot "on our way" and "on our way home". I had my first stay in a hotel too. Momma and Daddy said I did a good job sleeping in different beds. I had some trouble the first night away (at the hotel in Roanoke) but once we were in "Myrtle Beach" I did much bettter. Momma and Daddy went on a date while I was sleeping one night; Aunt Shannon and Uncle Aaron watched over me. They said the food at Myrtle Beach was very yummy and Momma even let me have some of thier food sometimes. I still like it best when Momma and Daddy feed me but it's okay to feed myself if they are busy. Cheerios are my favorite. My favorite part of vacation with having Daddy around a lot to play with me. And swimming in the big pool.

Momma measured me today (11 months and 1 week). I weigh 22lbs and 14oz and I'm 31 inches long. This month I have been learning more how to feed myself. And yesterday Momma even let me hold the spoon for a little bit. It is hard to get the food into my mouth though so it is better to just have Momma do it. Daddy and Momma are impressed with how "talkative" and "social" I am. I babble away almost anywhere. I'm also getting better at "cruising" by holding on to whatever is available. I have even stood without holding anything a few times for almost 10 seconds.

10 months old

I'm 10 months old now. I'm about 30 inches long and around 21 lbs. Momma said I'm a busy body because I like to crawl and explore everything around me. I also like to stand up and walk around holding on to whatever I can get my hands on. I'll even stand on my tip-toes to get something out of reach. I started "climbing" and that means I can reach even more things. I like to reach and stretch to get cell phones and remotes, though Momma and Daddy don't usually leave them where I can get them.

I still like to sleep. I sleep mostly on my stomach with my hands over my head. I pull my knees up under me and have my butt up in the air. Momma said she thinks I look "silly" but if I'm "comfortable", that is fine with her. I sleep about 12 hours a night and take a couple 1 1/2 hour naps during the day.

When I'm awake, other than getting into anything I can reach, I like to eat. I've been eating puffs for a snack in the morning and the afternoon. New foods I've tried are Pineapple, Corn, Cantaloupe, Cauliflower, and lots of new spices like ginger, rosemary, and cumin. I have 4 teeth which help me eat lots of yummy food.

When we go places, I like to smile and laugh a lot but I like it most if Momma or Daddy don't leave me, especially if I'm a little sleepy. I say "da-da" a lot and "ma-ma" sometimes. I say "ma-ma" mostly when I'm upset and need some attention.

My favorite thing is bath time with Daddy. He lets me splash in the water and dumps water over my head. I also like it when Daddy hums rock-a-bye to me while we are getting ready for bed. I like when Momma lays on the floor and plays with me and when we snuggle before I go to sleep for my naps. Momma says everyday that I look bigger than the day before and while she seems a little sad, Momma and Daddy both said they are really happy I'm growing up big and strong.

My New Bedding - notice Momma added covers over the railings so I cannot chew on them anymore. No worry, I just chew on the covers instead.

Here are some pictures of me learning how to feed myself puffs. They are very tasty but they like to stick to my hand. And Momma said to mention I use both hands when I feed myself.

Here is a picture of me with my 3rd cousin Lucy on Memorial Day. We went to her Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch.

Note from Momma: He does have more clothes than just the Red, White, Blue stripped shirt you see in most of these pictures. He just happens to wear that one often when I have the camera out. And, well, I think he looks darn cute in it! :)

I am a child of God

This weekend was my baptism. Aunt Karen and Uncle Stephen drove all the way from Indianapolis to my church Sunday morning to be there. There were a lot of special people there like my Great Grandma H, Great Grandpa H, Uncle Jon, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Shannon, and my cousins. Momma and Daddy said all the family that came because they are special people who love me and want to help me grow up to be the best I can be. Here are some pictures from my baptism.

Also this week, I met my Uncle John from California. He played with me and I played with his chain. He didn't even take it away from my like Momma does. He came with Grandma S to my baptism too.

I'm going to take a nap now so Momma and I can go on a walk later today.

I'm 9 months old

I'm 9 months old. I went to see Dr. Ware yesterday and even though I have a runny nose, he said I look very healthy. I weigh 20lbs, 10oz and am 30 inches long. Momma said I'll get to ride in my new car seat starting today. Dr. Ware was happy to hear that I am crawling and trying to pull myself up to standing. He was also suprised at how talkative I was. Momma took a bunch of pictures of me instead of taking me someplace to have other people take pictures. Other than going to see Dr. Ware, it was a pretty normal day.

I have 3 teeth, almost 4 now. I like to smile at just about anyone and show them off. I love the color red but I also like other bright colors like yellow and orange. My favorite toys are my grapes chewy toy that vibrates when I bite on it and the hammer from my toolbench that rattles and is also good to chew on.

Momma took me outside yesterday to let me play in the sunshine and grass but I didn't like the grass very much. I just started fussing until Momma picked me back up.

Momma said that today I get to meet my Uncle John, her brother. He is coming from California, which Momma said is a long way away. Momma said Uncle John will have fun playing with me and I can show him all my toys and how I can crawl and laugh.

I'm going to take a nap now so I can be all ready when Uncle John comes to visit.

Not out of my reach!

I really like to chew on Momma and Daddy's remote controls. I also really like to play with thier cell phones. Now I can go get them whenever I want to by just pulling up and standing.

Also on Thursday when I woke up from my nap I met Rachel. Momma said she is my first real babysitter. She was very nice. She changed my stinky diaper, fed me my bottle and lunch and played with me until Momma came back home. I like meeting new people so it was a lot of fun! This is a picture Momma took of Rachel and me.

I almost have 2 more teeth also on the top. Momma has been giving me yummy teething tablets to help me feel better. She thinks I'll probably have two more teeth, 4 total, by the time I'm 9 months old on Wednesday.

I've had a big week. I learned how to get up from my belly to sitting. I don't have to yell for momma or daddy to come and sit me up.

Momma and Daddy started brushing my two teeth. It tastes good so I try to chew and suck on their finger while they are trying to brush my back gums.

I also like to shake my head back and forth which makes everyone looking at me laugh. They keep shaking their heads too and saying "no, no, no" then they shake them up and down and say "yes, yes, yes" which just makes me laugh and shake my head back and forth more.

I started eating mangos, carrots, and asparagus. They are all very yummy foods.

And today, I started "crawling". Momma and Daddy were all excited and took this video of me crawling.


Okay, I'm going to bed now. It's been a long day.

8 months old, anothor big month for me

I'm eight months old today. Momma said I don't have to go see Dr. Ware today. I weight 19lbs 6oz which Momma and Daddy were pretty excited about. They say I've really started putting on the weight now with eating more solid food. I am 28 3/4 inches long.

This month Momma and Daddy were so excited when I put my knees up under me and lifted my belly off the ground.

Also Momma took these before and after photos (15 minutes) to show that nothing is really out of reach for me anymore. If I'm sitting I just scoot forward by rocking back and forth, and if I'm lying down I roll or push backwards to get around.

 

Daddy also was excited to see me holding my bottle by myself when he tried to feed me to other day. I did it almost all by myself until my arms were tired, and then I let Daddy hold it for a little while.

Momma is very happy because this month she ate some cheese and milk and it didn't make me feel bad. She said it's good that I "outgrew" my intolerance because that way I can have "ice cream" someday.  She was pretty excited about the "ice cream" part.

I still like "bright" colors like red, yellow, and orange the best. I only have two teeth but they are even bigger than they were last month. Momma and Daddy have been very busy so we go see people a lot when Daddy is home on the weekends. During the week, Momma and I will walk to the "mailbox" to get them mail and if it is really nice, we go on a walk. I like to ride in my big stroller and just sit back and look around. Daddy said he's happy I'm "laid back". I also still really enjoy bath time, now I even sit up by myself in the bath.
